Interior Portrait (Portret we wnętrzu)

This 5-movement film suite was originally created as a soundtrack for an animated film by a Polish artist Robert Sowa. It had become quite clear since my first meeting with Robert Sowa that music should not simply illustrate the picture (neither picture should follow the music), but both visual and sonic layers should co-exist in the same emotional space, keeping their autonomy.

The music can function as an independent piece and it has been performed in concerts under the title of "Hortus Conclusus".
